Doctors Without Borders is urging Israeli troops to "immediately stop their attacks on hospitals in north Gaza," claiming that one of its employees was killed by shrapnel wounds that were not properly treated and that six of its employees are stranded in a hospital in Jabalia without electricity.

The organization, also known as Médecins Sans Frontières, or MSF, said in a statement on Saturday that Israeli forces are encircling the three main hospitals in northern Gaza. It cited the Ministry of Health in Gaza, which is managed by Hamas, as well as other medical personnel on the ground. According to MSF, 350 patients—including those who are pregnant and just had surgery—are confined inside the hospitals.

"This is a collective punishment imposed on Palestinians in Gaza, who have to choose between being killed or forcibly displaced from the north," stated MSF's emergency coordinator in Gaza. "The ever-worsening escalation of violence and nonstop Israeli military operations that we have been witnessing over the past two weeks in northern Gaza have horrifying consequences." We worry that this won't end.

There was no immediate comment from the Israel Defense Forces.
