Moscow -- All four occupants of a Mi-2 helicopter perished in a crash in the central Kirov area of Russia on Saturday, according to emergency officials.

According to an official statement from Russia's Emergency Ministry, the single-piloted helicopter carrying a doctor and two paramedics crashed in a forest close to the town of Beleenki, around 700 kilometers (435 miles) east of Moscow.

According to the ministry, rescuers eventually located the fourth body at the crash scene, but at first they only found three.

The cause of the crash was not immediately disclosed by the authorities.

The Mi-2 is a compact helicopter with multiple uses that was designed in the Soviet Union.
